GMC ProGrade Trailering incorporates a smart suite of features designed to support safe, easy towing. Find out more about this advanced system if you’re planning to tow a trailer or RV with your next GMC vehicle.

In-Vehicle Trailering App
This feature lets you control your trailer from your car’s infotainment system. The In-Vehicle Trailering App includes trailer tire pressure monitoring and other safety alerts, maintenance reminders, a load calculator, and an interactive step-by-step pre-departure prep checklist. Set an alert to let you know when your truck exceeds the gross vehicle weight rating.
You can create custom profiles in the system if you tow more than one trailer with your GMC. Profiles may be transferred between multiple GMC vehicles. An innovative light test runs a sequence of lights once the trailer is properly engaged, so you know you’ve performed the steps correctly.
Trailer Theft Alert
You can engage trailer theft alerts for an added layer of security. When activated, this feature triggers an alert when someone disconnects the wiring harness with the vehicle parked.
Smart Trailer
If your RV has smart home functionality, you can control those features from the trailering app. Monitor and adjust power slide-outs, HVAC controls, water tank levels, and more.
Trailer Side Blind-Zone Alert
This safety feature provides visual side-mirror alerts if another vehicle enters your trailer’s blind zones. When you engage the blind-zone alert, it becomes active when you have a trailer attached and put your car or truck in gear. Trailer Side Blind-Zone Alert relies on invisible sensors in the rear corners of the vehicle. It works in conjunction with GMC’s Lane Change Alert system.
Available Trailer Views
While exact trailer views vary depending on the make and model of your GMC, some vehicles have up to nine camera modes. Transparent Trailer View shows you the area behind your connected trailer. The Picture-in-Picture Side View shows a split screen with views behind the trailer and on both sides. With the Inside Trailer View, check on your cargo without leaving the driver’s seat with the addition of an in-trailer accessory camera.
The Rear Trailer View shows objects behind the trailer with an accessory camera. You can also get a Cargo Bed View on GMC trucks. When you’re connecting your trailer, switch to Hitch View to see a close-up of the trailer hitch. Rear Side-View With Trailer Length Indicator lets you assess whether you have enough space to change lanes.
ProGrade Trailering is available for many 2024 and 2025 GMC models including the Yukon, Yukon XL, Canyon, Sierra 1500, and Sierra HD. Visit Hansen Motor Co in Brigham City, UT to see this next-generation system in action as you find your perfect towing vehicle.
