1. Brigham City Museum of Art & History

The Brigham City Museum has continually changing exhibits. Currently, it is showing “The Desert Southwest–Three Photographers’ Vision” which spotlights Utah’s rugged yet beautiful desert landscape. This will remain on display through June 17 at 24 North 300 West. Admission is always free.

2. Art on Main

The theme for this year’s annual art festival, “Sunny Days Ahead”, reflects a desire to focus on the positive as we emerge from a post-pandemic life. Points of interest are the fine art show, live music and performing arts, a photography exhibit showcasing Bear River wildlife, and a live chalk art contest where you can watch the art come to life before your very eyes.

Local merchants will offer a variety of activities, entertainment, and refreshments. New this year is an additional show of pottery, wood carvings, and jewelry. Art on Main is held May 26-27 on Main Street. This is a free event with the exception of two ticketed special engagements. There are blocks and blocks of local art to explore so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy a stroll through the Main St. sidewalks.

3. BYU Museum of Art

If you don’t mind a bit of a drive, the BYU Museum of Art at North Campus Drive in Provo has a stunning collection of permanent displays and changing works of art. This free museum currently is showcasing art from Maynard Dixon, “Souls and Sacraments: Symbol and Context in Christian Art”, and a unique quilt show called “Primal Forces: Earth.”

4. Paint Party

If you’d like to create some art yourself, head on down to 58 South 100 West where the Brigham City Fine Arts Center will hold a paint party on Saturday, May 20th. For $25.00 participants will be led through the steps of creating an 11″ x 14″ oil painting. No experience is necessary. This is a fun event for groups of friends and families.

With all the art offerings around town, you need to have reliable transportation to get you there. Visit Hanson Motors today to find a car perfectly suited to your needs.
